The Portland Cement
Association (PCA) was founded in 1916 to "improve and expand
the uses of portland cement and concrete," and today represents
53 cement companies across the United States and Canada. Portland
cement is a core element in most concretes used in construction
around the world today. The Association carries out a range of
activities, including marketing, educational programs, research,
and advocacy, that aims to raise the quality of the product, the
manufacturing process, and generally contribute to a better environment.
