Salem

In Salem, all concrete scenarios produced heating and cooling energy cost savings relative to the baseline building. Except for the structural steel building, adding concrete to the interior or exterior of a building insulated to code produced heating and cooling cost savings of between about 7% and 9% compared to the baseline building. Adding more mass or more insulation or both resulted in additional cost savings up to 22% for the very high mass building with extra insulation and distributed internal loads.
